As we approach Memorial Day, Hutchinson offers several events to honor the occasion and engage with the community.
Memorial Day Observances
On Monday, May 25, the city will observe Memorial Day. Please note that there will be no school sessions on this day. Residents are encouraged to participate in local commemorations to honor those who have served.
City Meetings and Workshops
- Senior Advisory Board Meeting: May 25, 10:00 am – 11:00 am.
- Library Board Meeting: May 25, 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. (Rescheduled)
- Council Workshop (Budget Kick-off): May 26, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm.
- City Council Meeting: May 26, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.
- EDA Board Meeting: May 27, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.
- Hutchinson Utilities Commission Meeting: May 27, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
These meetings provide opportunities for residents to stay informed and participate in local governance.
Community Art Showcase
The Hutchinson Center for the Arts is hosting the “Pollinator” Community Showcase from May 20 to June 27. This exhibition celebrates pollinators like bees, butterflies, and bats through community-submitted artwork. The gallery is open Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Admission is free. Please note that the gallery will be closed on Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, for the Memorial Day holiday.
